How To Update Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 with leaked official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update

Install Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean leaked firmware for the Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 400x250 How To Update Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 with leaked official Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update
A leaked variant of the Android 4.2.2 JB for the Samsung Galaxy S3 International variant appeared earlier today on various web sites. Now, you can use this tutorial and learn how to successfully flash this leaked Jelly Bean 4.2.2 build based on official Samsung firmware. Read this entire post and make sure that you’re an advanced user who knows how to use ODIN and flash new firmware files.
In order to successfully manage to install this new Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean leaked firmware for your Samsung Galaxy S3, then you first take a look at the preparation guide below:
  • Use this tutorial only with the Samsung Galaxy S3 International variant. It should have the build number I9300. Don’t try to flash this firmware file on any other Android device, as you will end up bricking it.
  • The smartphone that you’re about to update can be rooted, but note that by updating it you will revoke root access for it. This is a leaked firmware, but it still is based on official Samsung firmware which is why any root access will be removed after installation is complete.
  • Make sure that the Samsung USB Drivers are installed on your PC. Without these, your phone cannot be recognized by ODIN. If you don’t have them on your PC, then you can download them from here.
  • Enable USB debugging from the Android Developer Options menu. It can be found by opening Settings menu. NOTE: If the Developer Options menu doesn’t appear, then you should open Settings, scroll down to About Phone and then tap 7 times on the Build Number section which will enable the Android Development area for your device.
  • make sure that there is no antivirus running on your PC.
  • Also, disable Samsung KIES program before getting to the tutorial.
  • Save all your important before installing the new OS.
  • If the phone shows Force Closing errors, enters a boot loop after installing the new ROM, then you will be asked to wipe data and all the contents from your device, including the internal SDcard. If you don’t factory reset the phone, it won’t boot with the new Jelly Bean update.
  • make sure that you know what you’re doing and that you’re an advanced Android user. This guide shouldn’t be applied by novices.
  • Don’t blame us in case something goes wrong and you brick the phone. If you have any questions or you cannot complete the tutorial, then you should ask for extra help in comments.
  • The phone’s battery power charge levels should be over 50%, so that it will prevent the device from switching off in the middle of the updating process.
  • Don’t skip any steps that I have listed in this post.
These were all the preparation steps you had to take before continuing to the tutorial.
NOTE: If the phone doesn’t boot with the new OS then you should read this: a ‘factory reset’ is required after installing the ROM, which is why you need to backup your most important data before installing the new OS so that you will be prepared and you won’t lose any files.
If the installation completes without problems and the phone boots without problems, then there is nothing to worry and the factory reset is avoidable.

How to update Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 to leaked Android 4.2.2 XXUFME3 Jelly Bean:

  1. Download the I9300XXUFME3 zip file from here. Save the file on your PC.
  2. Extract the contents of I9300XXUFME3 and save them to a single folder on your computer’s desktop screen. You should obtain a file with the .tar or .tar.md5 extension; don’t extract any further.
  3. Download Odin 3.04 from HERE. Save the file on your PC and extract its contents to a folder named ODIN. NOTE: if Odin 3.04 doesn’t work, then you should try and use Odin 3.07 (here) or Odin 1.85 (here).
  4. Power off your Galaxy S3 now. Remove its battery and then re-insert it after 5 seconds have passed, and leave the phone switched off.
  5. Now, boot the SGS3 into Download Mode like this: press and hold simultaneously the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons until the screen powers on. Then, press Volume Up to confirm that you want to boot into Android Download mode. Continue to the next step.
  6. Launch ODIN executable on your computer.
  7. Next, connect your smartphone to your PC via USB data cable. ODIN should say ‘Added!’ and that means that you can continue to the next step.
    > if the phone isn’t recognized by ODIN, then you should try to change the USB ports or to re-install the Samsung USB drivers. After that you have to repeat the entire tutorial once again.
  8. Click ‘PDA’ button in ODIN and then load the ‘I9300XXUFME3_I9300OJKFME1_HOME.tar.md5′ file. Don’t change any other default settings of the program.
    > make sure that the Re-Partition option is not enabled.
  9. Click the START button when you’re ready to upgrade your Galaxy S3 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean leaked firmware.
  10. The installation process shouldn’t take long and in under 10 minutes it should have flashed all the required files of I9300XXUFME3 build.
  11. The phone will reboot and load the home screen of the new operating system.
  12. Test all the new features and then tell us in comments how’s the Galaxy S3 working now that is running the latest build of Android.
NOTE: in case ODIN freezes or it displays the FAIL message, then you will have to disconnect the device from PC, close ODIN and remove the battery from your phone. Re-insert the battery back into its place and then repeat the entire tutorial once again starting with step 5. This time you have to make sure that you don’t skip any steps. However, if you cannot complete the update, then you might want to try to use another variant of ODIN, as the 3.07 version might not work.
NOTE2: If ODIN says ‘PASS’ and the phone restarts but, it cannot get past the Galaxy S3 boot animation, then you will have to apply the following steps:
  • power off the device completely and remove its battery.
  • re-insert the battery after 5 seconds have passed.
  • boot your device into Recovery mode like this: press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power buttons.
  • When the Samsung logo appears, release all buttons and the Recovery mode will boot.
  • Select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ option and confirm.
  • Return to the first screen of Recovery mode.
  • Select ‘reboot system now’.
  • Wait for the phone to boot and then enter your Google Account credentials in order to take control over your phone once again.
